MIND. BODY. KEY

I started working out to take better care of my mind as much as my body. I deal with depression and anxiety, and for a long time, I used to stay in bed most of the day, feeling stuck and unmotivated. Now, I walk for an hour every day and do full circuit workouts when I can, but my main focus is on consistency rather than perfection. Walking feels low-maintenance, easy, and even fun—it’s something I actually look forward to. I even completed a 5K and plan on doing another soon. It’s helped me build a routine, clear my head, and feel proud of simply showing up for myself every day.

For a while, working from home started to feel heavy. The days blurred together - dark, quiet, and still. I didn't realize how much sitting in that space was affecting me, not physically but mentally.

So I started walking.

Just walking. Even if I was wearing my slides. No pressure, no goals, no perfect form - just movement.

And something changed.

The air felt different. My thoughts slowed down. The same steps that started as "I just need to move" slowly became "I feel better when I move." Fitness, for me, isn't about chasing an aesthetic anymore. It's about mental clarity. It's the reminder that even small steps forward count as progress.

This ties into my ongoing journey of healing - the same one I began when I left my family group chat. That choice wasn't about distance; it was about peace. About fixing internal thoughts, quieting noise, and finally listening to myself.

Every walk feels like another conversation with the parts of me I used to silence. And maybe that's what healling reallly is - movement with intention.

I even wrote a poem about it ...
